Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Energy Body?
Clairvoyants, with the use of their psychic faculties, have observed that every person is surrounded and interpenetrated by a luminous energy body called the bioplasmic body. It is also called as the energy body or Etheric double. This energy body interpenetrates the visible physical body and extends beyond it by four or five inches. It follows the contour of the visible physical body and is called the inner aura.- What are Chakras
Chakras or whirling energy centers are very important part of the energy body. Just as the visible physical body has vital and minor organs, the energy body has major, minor and mini chakras. Major Chakras are energy centers which in general are about three to four inches in diameter. They control and energize the major and vital organs of the visible physical body. They are just like power stations that supply life energy or prana to different organs. When the power stations malfunction, the corresponding vital organs become sick or deseased
because they do not have enough life energy to operate properly! The chakras have several important functions:
1. They absorb, digest and distribute prana to the different parts of the body.
2. The Chakras control and energize, and are responsible for the proper functioning
of the whole physical body and its different parts and organs. The endocrine glands
are controlled and energized by some of the major chakras. The endocrine glands
can be stimulated or inhibited by controlling or manipulating the major chakras. A lot of ailments are caused partially by the malfunctioning of the chakras.3. Some chakras are sites or centers of psychic faculties. Activation of certain chakras may result in the development of certain psychic faculties. For example, among the easiest and safest chakras to activate are the hand minor chakras. These are located at the center of the palms. By activating these chakras, one develops the ability to feel subtle energies and the ability to feel and sense different parts of the aura.
Many ancient esoteric books reveal only seven chakras or less. Although a few of them hint on the existence of more than seven. The credit goes to Master Choa kok Sui for explicitely revealing abd explaining in detail the closely-guarded secret of 11 major chakras in his book, Miracles through Pranic Healing.
- Where does Prana come from?
There are 3 principal sources - the sun, the air and the earth.
Secondary sources include food, water, plants, etc. We need a constant
supply of fresh prana to maintain good health. Pranic Healing also teaches
you how to consciously absorb and assimilate more prana and use it to
improve your life.- How does one learn to heal/treat using this technique?
There are 3 fundamental levels of Pranic Healing - Basic(Level-1), Advanced(Level-2) and psychotherapy(Level-3) workshops.
The Basic pranic healing workshop is open to all. No prior knowledge or skills are necessary. Here, students are introduced to the concept of the bioplasmic body, its characteristics and how it relates to a person’s health. They are taught how to feel or scan this energy field using the sense of touch. This skill is easy to pick up initially, though mastery takes time and practice. With this ability to scan, Pranic Healers are able to determine those parts of the bioplasmic body that may be imbalanced. At the basic level, this manifests as excess energy at a part, known as Pranic congestion, or lack of energy, known as Pranic depletion. Once determined, Pranic Healers are imparted the skills of cleansing and energising, which allows them to normalise the affected areas. Cleansing involves removing the “dirty” or used-up energy that causes the imbalances in the first place; while energising allows us to restore the energy balance by projecting “fresh” or clean energy into the affected part.
Besides teaching us how to heal, the Pranic Healing workshop also contains a meditation technique called the Meditation on Twin Hearts, basic Pranayama or Breathing techniques, lectures on the Law or Karma and character building, divine healing techniques and techniques to heal oneself and how to heal people at a distance.
Pranic Healing Center of Wisconsin conducts regular workshops in different parts of the state. There are similar Healing centers throughout the midwest. Please visit the Links section of the website to find the nearest instructor or Center to you.- What exactly happens during a Pranic Healing session?
During a Pranic Healing session, the patient has only to keep an open mind and sit(or lie down) in a relaxed position. The patient does not need to "believe" in pranic healing. What is required is simple lack of inner resistance. Just simple curiosity or willingness to experiment is also enough on the part of the patient.
After establishing rapport with the patient, the healer normally starts off by scanning the energy field of the patient and depending on his or her level of skill, may look for imbalances in different parameters.
Pranic Healers use different healing protocols for different ailments, but they all involve the techniques of cleansing and energising to normalise the energy field, the chakras and the internal organs. A normal, balanced energy field leads to better physical, emotional and mental health. From a scientific point of view, the balanced energy field catalyses certain biochemical changes in the body, which in turn allows normalising of the physical condition. Of course, the healing may need to be applied several times before a complete cure is achieved. However, many simple ailments such as pain, insomnia, etc. tend to be relieved very quickly.
It is important to specify here that Pranic Healing belongs to complementary therapy and does not intend to replace orthodox medicine. Patients are never asked to stop any medication. In fact, a pateint whose ailment is severe, is encouraged to visit a doctor and get the diagnosis done before returning for healing, since it helps the pranic healer to apply the specific protocol for the ailment diagnosed medically.
- How many sessions are required for an effective healing?
The number of times a person needs to undergo treatment varies. It depends on many factors like severity of the ailment, the age and physical strength of the patient, delicateness of the internal organ being healed etc. It often also depends on the amount of effort the patient is willing to put in. If the patient regularly practises the meditation and/or breathing techniques that are taught to him or her, and also, where required, does some simple exercises and is in control of the diet, recovery is extremely fast; in many cases, almost miraculous.
All too often, however, the patient expects that just visiting a healer once will cure them. This is not necessarily true. If an ailment is severe healing protocol is applied twice or thrice a week for many weeks until there is substantial improvement..
